How to setup a Forge server

This tutorial was made on the basis of minecraftversion.net and consulhosting.nl. It is possible to use other hosting providers in addition to ConsulHosting to set up a Forge server.

Forge is used to add mods or a modpack to your server. Adding mods to your server allows you to take advantage of unique addons and twists in your server.

MinecraftVersion makes it possible to easily create your own Forge server on any version you want.


 Go to minecraftversion.net

 Go to the Forge download page 

 Download the Forge version of your choice by clicking the Download button.  

 Go to your server hostings control panel and login, we use panel.consulhosting.nl in the example. The process is almost the same with other Minecraft hostings. 

 Go to your server File Manager and delete all files.

 Upload the downloaded zip file. 

 Unzip the file.  

 Start your server and accept the Minecraft EULA. 

 You have now successfully installed forge on your Minecraft server. All necessary files are created after startup. To put mods or a modpack in the server, put it in the "mods" folder of your server.

The uploaded .zip file is no longer needed and can be removed from the File Manager.
